Tournament Recap: Shearon Harris Event 1

We never thought we would have to write these words: yesterday, we ran an event following CDC and North Carolina Health Department Pandemic Prevention Regulations. We’ve fished and held many historic events, but that’s a twist.

First, we want to thank TourneyX for its check in/out system. Dwayne and TourneyX built in that feature, and without it we would not have been able to run the tournament. Second, we want to thank Duke Energy, Harris Lake County Park, and NCWRC for their assistance with the event permits and changes/cancellations. Communication between our Trail and those entities was excellent. Finally, we want to thank each of you who competed, communicated and traveled safely to and from the event. It was a relief to have it all go smoothly, and the credit goes to each of you.

In sum, this was CKA’s second highest attendance of all time. 90 anglers caught, photographed and released 190 fish on Shearon Harris, new anglers who submitted fish did a great job of doing it correctly, and communication between judge and anglers went smoothly.

There was a written dispute that necessitated a review of the standings. The review was initiated by a non-competitor who noticed an error. The matter was easily resolved. The final, revised standings are posted below and on TourneyX. This is why we returned to the Paypal system with a 24 hour window: it prevented a complicated return of cash funds. And yes, a non-competitor filed it: people are watching these events at all times, and that is all the more reason to take our time with results.

The final standings are now back open to see. Here are the money places:
